Privacy Notice
Last reviewed: 21 October 2026
This notice explains how Discover Zanzibar handles information when you browse the website, contact us or request an introduction.
Who is responsible
Discover Zanzibar is operated by ARROW OF ZANZIBAR LIMITED, registration number Z0000182911, Fumba Town, Zanzibar. Contact: Kilowatt.africa@gmail.com; +255 775 755 795. Send privacy requests to this email with the subject “Privacy request”.
Information we receive
If you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number, company, project location, interests, proposed budget and the information you choose to include. Please provide only what is needed for your enquiry. Do not send identity documents, bank statements or other sensitive records through the initial forms. Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, browser information and security events when delivering the website.
How the enquiry forms work
The public enquiry forms prepare an email draft on your device. Completing a form does not by itself send your enquiry to Arrow or save it in a website enquiry database. You review and send the draft through your own email application. A WhatsApp link opens WhatsApp with a proposed message; you decide whether to send it. Once you send a message, Arrow and the relevant communication service process it under their respective responsibilities.
Why we use information
We use enquiry information to respond, understand your requirements, discuss requested services and arrange introductions that you agree to. We may also use relevant records to administer an engagement, resolve complaints, comply with applicable obligations and protect our systems. Depending on the activity and applicable law, the basis may be your request for pre-contractual steps, performance of an agreement, legal obligations, legitimate operational interests or consent. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting prior lawful processing.
Partners and service providers
We use hosting, infrastructure, email and communication providers to deliver the website and respond to enquiries. We do not sell personal enquiry information. Before an introduction, we discuss with you which partner will receive your information and what will be shared. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. Public company profiles and business contact details may come from the relevant company or a public source; contact us to request a correction.
Automatic translation and external services
English is the original website language. Choosing Kiswahili opens a translated view through Google Translate. Google then receives the requested page URL and technical connection information, and its own terms and privacy practices apply. Translation is optional; simply browsing the English pages does not load a Google translation widget. Links to WhatsApp, official authorities and other websites take you to services operated by other organisations. Information you enter or send there is handled by those services.
International processing
Website infrastructure, translation, email and messaging providers may process information outside Zanzibar or Tanzania. We seek to limit disclosures to what is needed for the service and to apply safeguards required by the law governing the particular processing. Contact us before sharing information if you need to discuss a specific data-location requirement.
Retention
We keep enquiry correspondence for the period reasonably needed to respond, follow up on the requested project and resolve related issues. Closed enquiries should be reviewed for deletion or anonymisation after 12 months without further relevant contact, unless an ongoing engagement, dispute or legal requirement justifies longer retention. Contractual, accounting and compliance records follow the applicable record-keeping requirements. Technical records held by infrastructure and communication providers follow their service and security retention arrangements. Deletion from operational systems may take additional time to propagate through provider backups.
Your choices and requests
You may ask us for information about our use of your data, access to relevant records, correction, deletion, restriction or an end to unwanted contact. The rights available and any exceptions depend on the applicable law. Contact Kilowatt.africa@gmail.com; we may request proportionate information to confirm identity before disclosing personal records. You can also raise a concern with the competent data-protection authority where its jurisdiction applies. We do not claim that every jurisdiction’s data-protection law applies to every visitor or activity.
Security, cookies and children
We use HTTPS and restrict administration to authenticated users. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Public pages offer optional first-party visitor statistics after consent. We store a random browser identifier for up to 90 days, a session identifier, pages, active time, approximate country/city where provided by hosting infrastructure, device/browser category, referring hostname and UTM campaign labels. We do not store IP addresses, precise location, full user agents or URL query strings. Detailed records are retained for 90 days; cumulative totals remain. Use Statistics preferences in the footer to withdraw consent. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable this collection. The administration area uses a necessary security cookie; details are in our Cookies & Services Notice. The platform is intended for adult business and investment enquiries, and we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice when the website or its processing changes. The review date is shown above. For questions or complaints, contact Kilowatt.africa@gmail.com.
